my butterfly story
I first learned about the symbolism of the butterfly 36 hours after losing my son, as an organ donation doctor was pointing at a butterfly on my sweat-shirt and telling me something about transformation, rebirth, and freedom.

It was the last thing I wanted to hear. I didn’t want transformation. I wanted my little boy with the man bun and big brown eyes, just the way he was. But deep down I knew that doctor was right. And I hated it.
What I didn’t know - was that the butterfly would become a lifeline for me... and bring so much hope, love, and connection. A reminder of what I now know to be true: An end is not the end.
The butterfly is proof. She goes through total darkness-complete surrender-and still comes out extraordinary.
I've gifted about 50 of these necklaces to women who have butterfly stories of their own.
